Scorn of a Woman

Medea felt betrayed

when Jason cast her aside

for the hand of a Theban princess.

The blow her husband dealt

caused the degradation

of her moral compass.

Bent on revenge,

Medea vowed to take away

everything he held dear.

First, she sent the princess

a poisoned wedding dress.

When Jason’s prospective bride

adorned the tainted clothing,

her skin burned with the heat

of a thousand suns.

The finale was the slaying

of their sons.

For spurning his wife,

Jason wandered in solemnity

until his death.

As for Medea,

the cause of her demise

is unknown.
