Dreams Do Come True

Those who have been following my blog for the past year might remember the line used to describe my website. “Katherine Givens: A writer trying to get her big toe in the publishing industry’s door.” Today I am proud to say that my big toe pushed in and, maybe, the other toes.

I received a contract offer today from a terrific publisher, which I am most likely to accept. The contract is for a novella I wrote several months ago, which is titled In Her Dreams. The story is a historical romance about a woman in love with a figment of her dreams, but her dreams cross over into reality.

It is ironic that this is my first sale, because yesterday being a published author was merely a dream for me. Today, it has crossed over into reality, and I could not be happier. I think it is safe to say that I might be the happiest person walking this earth at the moment.

Further details about In Her Dreams will be released as the process moves along. I shall announce the name of my publisher when the contract is signed, sealed, and delivered. For now, all I can say is I am very, very thrilled with the company.

  1. I’m delighted for you! It’s been very inspiring to observe your progress, especially during the periods when I just wasn’t writing. Great timing indeed! Today, I felt my own dreams bleed into reality as a workable form from an abstract idea crystallized into view. Thank you for chronicling your journey to publication!

    1. Thank you! One of the reasons why I started this blog was so I could share my successes, journey, and thoughts with others so others could be inspired to pursue their own dreams. And I’ll continue to chronicle this journey, because it is only the beginning.

  2. CONGRATSSSSSS!!!! That’s so exciting! How wonderful for you. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like when one of us wins we all win. Must be a writing community thing. Nice work, Miss Soon-to-be-published. 😀
